Inside Camille Charrière’s London apartment | Une Fille, Un Style | Vogue Paris

I’m Camille Charrière. I was raised in Paris,
but I am a frog that hopped across the channel and has been living in London
for the past eight years. When people ask me what I’m doing in London, I always struggle a little bit to answer
because I’m a multi-hyphenate person. I obviously work on my podcast
with my co-host and friend, Monica Ainley. I do brand collaborations,
I have a big Instagram account and I am a fashion writer. I live in the heart of Notting Hill. It’s my favourite part of London and I think it’s my favourite part of London
because it feels the most like Paris. It has that “quartier” feel,
like living in a neighborhood. It’s really cozy and feels like
you’re not lost in the big city. If I had to describe my style, I think I would say that I’m French
with a British twist. A wardrobe of basics with pieces
that mix and match throughout the seasons, throughout the years
and you don’t need to shop that much, you’re not focused on trends. I’m really strict now before I buy something new because I know that I need to make sure
that it gets worn properly, so there’s that. I also operate a one in, one out policy, meaning that every time
that I want to buy something new, I have to make sure that I sell
or get rid of something first. That means either selling them on, taking it to the local charity shop and then also getting your friends to come over
and pick out whatever they want and doing the same in their wardrobes,
which is super helpful to change things up. The flat itself, I’ve lived in it for two years. I love living here. I’ve had to mix and match everything
because it’s one big space. I have been very mindful
of the things that I put in my flat. Most of the things actually is second hand. I love getting up early and going to the market that is called Kempton. It’s every other Tuesday. You can find everything and all the beautiful pieces of furniture
that I found, like the chest of drawers and marble
for my bathroom, all the mirrors, in fact practically everything in there,
except for the art, is vintage.

Too boring, always the same girls, this is ridiculous, Vogue. Enough of the same old bland bourgeoises. Where are the beautiful revolutionary, crazy, punchy girls? The ones who make you feel alive when you see them? Not on your channel… Sorry if you don’t know any, you have to make an effort to meet people out of your cast…….
Nobody cares about the girls you force feed us anymore, we love life, life is diverse

This reminds me of finding (new) signature pieces that work well with well worn hammy downs. I love searching for a combination of both the old and "new". Alot of the new gets old sometimes … "Cheers"
